After graduation and work at the preschool was over, I fell into a slump....I had applied to every school I could think of in my area and heard nothing...EVER...every once in a while I would get a letter from a school saying "thanks for applying, but we don't have any positions available at the moment". This got old really, really, really fast! Luckily, I had my nanny job with the same wonderful family as last summer to keep me busy..Then I got invited to attend a Memphis City Schools job fair! I was so excited to be 1 of the 150 people invited. When I read the email with all the details of the event it seemed to me that there was no reason for me to attend as I don't have a special license for PE or Library, etc. I did go however and I was able to talk to the iZone schools, which are the most at- risk schools in the district. I got and interview with a wonderful school and offered the job as a Kindergarten teacher!!! I accepted of course and have been having so much fun prepping things for my classroom!
I must admit that thanks to Pinterest I have come up with some great stuff and found some AMAZING teacher websites with lots of freebies! Who doesn't love freebies?? Things are slowly coming together and I am super excited to get into my room and get things put together!
This is my teacher "everything" binder to hold all of my important teacher things I need daily!
This is a sample of my word wall letters
Awesome DIY pom pons for hanging in the room to brighten things up
This is just the beginning of my book baskets!
Thanks to everyone who has been supporting me and guiding me through this process...I couldn't have done this without you!!
Congratulations on getting job! It's so exciting. Definitely post pictures of your room once you get it put together.
