whats the rush?
It seems like nowadays the holidays aren't special anymore to anyone. This is so sad to me as I love holidays and anxiously await each and every one of them, but I hate to see Christmas items on the shelves before Halloween and Pre- Pre- black friday sales going on before we've even had Thanksgiving. Isn't it called black friday for a reason... it's supposed to be on a FRIDAY people. ANNNNDDDD to add insult to injury, it seems like the majority of people around here (and on facebook) want to skip thanksgiving and the yummy food and great family time that goes along with it, all together and just move on to Christmas. I love Christmas just as mucha s the next person, but I also love food and lots of it and personally love having my whole family together to celebrate our many blessings for one day. I think that the majority of american's are beginning to focus too much on the materialistic aspects of holidays and not on the real reasons why we celebrate them.
Heres a few suggestions for the winter holidays that are upon us:
1. Take time to enjoy the holiday up on us one at a time, I mean really enjoy- sit back, relax, don't get out of your PJs, whatever floats your boat.
2. Count your blessings- you may surprise yourself!
3. Focus on the resons for the holidays, not just the getting of gifts.
I want to leave a fw suggestions of places to shop this season where you can help make a difference for someone else at the same time.

I don't mean to be a debbie downer about the whole thing, but I just seem to be slightly disappointed in our world right now and think we should all take each day for what it is and be able to enjoy it and not have to rush through it. Our lives ( well, at least mine) are already non-stop, go go go, forget what day of the week it is and I think it is important, not only around the holidays, but every day to take time to enjoy and remember our many blessings we all have in our lives.
