I finally watched the entire length of The Graduate and I liked it. It was interesting, but I'm glad I saw it.
Also, while watching some TV one night, I saw an advertisement for adopting a Tiger through the WWF for only $8 a month. Now, one of the things on my list was to donate to the WWF and I also wanted to sponsor a child for a year. Well, sponsoring a child doesn't agree with my minut graduate student budget, so I have decided to sponsor a tiger for a year through the WWF instead. I can actually afford the $8 a month and I want to save the tigers that could go extinct in my lifetime. Adopt a Tiger
In other aspects of life, I have figured out that I will be graduating from Memphis in May 2012 with my Masters. This makes me so excited because I am so ready to be done with school and have a job and move on with life. With the possibility of Eric moving to Memphis in the near future, I could get to stay close to home for my first few years of teaching, which I think would make it a little easier since I have some fantastic support from fellow teachers in the area. We will have to wait and see what the future has in store for us.
SPring break is just around the corner! One week from today I will be on my way to Colorado to be snowboarding and (hopefully) relaxing! I will definitely have work to do for school because grad school doesn't stop for a vacation :( but the change in location and activities will be great for my mind and body!
In the teaching department my preschooler's are cuter than ever. I have grown to love them and learn their quirks and it is so fun to see them every day. This week we had a little girl who heard the song "You can't always get what you want" from the Rolling Stones and she likes to send the chorus to her friends when they get upset and don't get what they want. It is hilarious and always gives a great laugh in the middle of the day when most of the teachers need one! Leave it to 3 year olds to make everything better! They are also learning how to tell jokes, but they don't quite understand yet so they say things like this: "knock, knock" (whose there?) "banana" (banana who?) "banana got squashed by a boat!" and then they crack up . I have seen and heard alot in my 2 months being with these wonderful kiddos and the phrase "you can't scare me, I teach preschool" takes on a whole new meaning! It is very fitting for my life at this moment. There isn't too much left that will actually scare me in the kid department!
We also have our 4th foster doggy named Stella and we are thinking about adopting her. She is
sweet and loveable and would be a welcome addition to our family!
While life is still as crazy as ever, I am finding the chaos to be more manageable!
